Press Release Concerning the Start of Reprocessing Operations

Japan Nuclear Fuel Limited

Following pre-opening inspections of its Spent Fuel Receiving and Storage Facility, JNFL today received a certificate of approval from the Director General of the Science and Technology Agency for said facility. Upon receipt of this certification, JNFL immediately filed an application with the Director General of the Science and Technology Agency for permission to begin reprocessing operations in accordance with the Law for Regulation of Nuclear Source Material, Nuclear Fuel Material and Reactors.
