The final phase of the ongoing intake of Low-level Radioactive Waste from Genkai nuclear power station, operated by Kyushu Electric Company in Saga prefecture, was completed today. Overland transport vehicles loaded with LLW began leaving Mutsu-Ogawara port at 9:56. The first vehicle arrived at the centre at 10:12, and the last vehicle was unloaded at 12:19. Intake of the LLW to the centre was officially completed at 12:22. The total number of the containers received today was 60 containers(480 drums), for an aggregate total of 120 containers(960 drums). |
