Press Release Concerning the Fifth 1997 Intake of Low-level Radioactive Waste to the Low-level Radioactive Waste Disposal Centre in Rokkasho-Mura.

The fifth 1997 intake of Low-level Radioactive Waste(LLW) is scheduled to be held from 4 November 1997. The LLW will be shipped from Takahama nuclear power station, operated by Kansai Electric Company in Fukui prefecture.


The total amount of LLW to be received during this intake will be 1440 drums, with each drum containing 200 liters of LLW. Intake of all 1440 drums is expected to take 2 days.
