Press Release Concerning the Commencement of Inspection of Phase II Returned Vitrified Waste (2nd cask, 20 canisters)

JNFL has completed its calibration of the equipment used to inspect the first cask of 20 canisters which were installed in JNFL storage pits, and is scheduled to begin inspection of the second cask of 20 canisters from 2:00 PM on 23 June 1997.

The 20 canisters in the second cask are also scheduled to be installed in JNFL storage pits after receipt of a confirmation certificate from the government.
