Wrong Connection of Pipes in Spent Fuel
Receiving/Storage Facility

Japan Nuclear Fuel Limited

As a result of the voluntary inspection during the third periodical inspection of the spent fuel receiving/storage facility, JNFL found that two drain pipes of the active vent system's filter unit (a machine to remove gas moisture and impalpable particles generated from waste water) as one of the ventilation machines were connected in a wrong way. The cause of wrong connection is that wrong positions of drains were filled in the blueprint when the piping diagram was prepared in accordance with the system diagram. These pipes will be connected again in a proper way based on the correct piping diagram, and JNFL plans to inspect other similar pipes in the facility.
