June 7, 2013
Japan Nuclear Fuel Limited
President
Yoshihiko Kawai

We are very happy to announce that JNFL and AREVA has agreed on the "Joint Statement on the Future of Nuclear Fuel Recycling" witnessed by Prime Minister Abe and French President Hollande.

JNFL and AREVA have been cooperating in the nuclear fuel cycle field for a long time as partners.

Rokkasho Reprocessing Plant (RRP) completed its final vitrification test on May 26 and took a big step towards commercial operation.

At this circumstance, I trust that this statement has great value which confirms cooperation towards safe and stable operation of the RRP, based on AREVA's vast operation experience, as well as vitrification and MOX fuel fabrication technology.

Especially, we have reconfirmed that it is extremely worthwhile to perform periodical peer review to improve our plants' safety. We shall work hard together, aiming the world safest reprocessing plant.

JNFL is committed to taking the safety-first approach for commencement of the RRP.
