Result of Emergency Inspections Initiated by the Science and Technology Agency in the Wake of the JCO Tokai Plant Accident

The investigating committee today announced the results of complete emergency inspections requested by the Science and Technology Agency in the wake of the JCO Tokai Plant accident. The inspections confirmed the safety of all facilities, equipment, operation methods, training and other programs at the JNFL Uranium Enrichment Plant and the Vitrified Waste Storage Center. In light of the seriousness of the JCO Tokai Plant accident, JNFL has renewed its commitment to rigorously enforce safety standards at its own facilities in the future.
