Press Release Concerning Shipment of Spent Fuel to the Spent Fuel Receiving and Storage Building for Adjustment of Inspection Equipment

The above parties announced that the most recent shipment of spent fuel to JNFL's Spent Fuel Receiving and Storage was completed today.

The above parties deeply appreciate the public's understanding and cooperation with regard to this spent fuel shipment.

The transport ship, Rokuei-maru, loaded with 2 casks of spent fuel samples, left the private port of Fukushima Nuclear Power Station operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company at 9:30 in the morning of September 30 and arrived at the port of Mutsu-Ogawara at 7:10 in the morning today. Unloading of the casks began at 10:54, and ended at 11:56. Overland transport of the casks began at 13:45 and was officially completed at 14:30. The Rokuei-maru left port at 15:00 today.

The shipment consisted of 44 spent fuel assemblies (approx.8tU) contained in two NFT-22B casks.
