Press Release Concerning the Tenth 1997 Intake of Low-level Radioactive Waste to the Low-level Radioactive Waste Disposal Centre in Rokkasho-Mura.

The tenth 1997 intake of Low-level Radioactive Waste(LLW) is scheduled to be held from 23 February 1998. The LLW will be shipped from Genkai nuclear power station, operated by Kyushu Electric Company in Saga prefecture.

The total amount of LLW to be received during this intake will be 960 drums, with each drum containing 200 liters of LLW. Intake of all 960 drums is expected to take 2 days.
