Press Release Concerning the Commencement of the Third Regular Inspection ofthe Vitrified Waste Storage Centre at Rokkasho-Mura

JNFL announced that the third regular inspection of its Vitrified Waste Storage Centre will begin on 21 November. The inspection is expected to takeone month. The inspection will cover the following areas:

1.

Alarm equipment and interlocking devices

2.

Vitrified waste reprocessing capacity

3.

Primary radiation control facilities

4.

Dose equivalent rates and radioactive material concentrations incontrolled radiation areas

5.

Nuclear fuel material containment in restricted areas

6.

Other functions
