Press Release Concerring the Fourth 1997 Intake of Low-Level Radioactive Waste to the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Centre in Rokkasho-Mura.

The final phase of the ongoing intake of Low-Level Radioactive Waste from Fukushima-1 nuclear power station, operated by Tokyo Electric Company in Fukushima prefecture, was completed today.


Overland transport vehicles loaded with LLW began leaving Mutsu-Ogawara port at 9:53. The first vehicle arrived at the centre at 10:09, and the last vehicle was unloaded at 15:56. Intake of the LLW to the centre was officially completed at 16:03. The total number of the containers recieved today was 120 containers (960 drums), for an aggregate total of 360 containers (2880 drums).
