Start of the Centrifuge Cascade Test using Uranium Hexafluoride
(November 12, 2007)

On November 12th, we started the cascade test using uranium hexafluoride at our Centrifuge Test Facility.
The test gradually increases the supply of uranium within a cascade, and intended to confirm separation performance, as well as operational characteristic in cascade scale unit.

The development of this advanced type centrifuge machine has been made mobilizing domestic engineers to JNFL, and placed as a succeeding model to existing machine, aiming to have competitiveness of economic advantage and performance in the international market.
We intend to introduce this new centrifuge machine, replacing the existing machine around 2010, and bring the capacity up to 1,500t SWU/ year, within about 10years time.
