Announcement of Completion of the First 2000 Shipment of Natural UF6 to the Rokkasho Uranium Enrichment Plant in Rokkasho-Mura

The first 2000 shipment of natural UF6 to the Rokkasho Uranium Enrichment Plant was completed today. Natural UF6 imported from abroad was transshipped from a container ship and loaded on overland vehicles (4 trailers) at Tokyo's Ohi wharf. The vehicles left Ohi wharf at 00:00 April 21, and arrived at the Rokkasho Uranium Enrichment Plant at 15:24 of the same day. A total of 50 tons of UF6 stored in 48 Y-type cylinders was transported. The natural UF6 received today will be processed to enriched uranium for Tohoku Electric Power Company and Chugoku Electric Power Company.
